DUFE starts strong, with Detective Sarchie (Bana) investigating crimes that are linked via supernatural causes. Sarchie's biggest dilemma is he's the only one seeing and hearing weird things. The ascension of creepy sounds and flickering images lead to questions itching to be answered. These answers come from Edgar Ramirez, a slightly unorthodox priest who specialises in exorcism. The edgy, gritty unnatural, transcends into the mundane, focusing on exorcism for the latter part of the film. It's been seen before, hundreds of times, and Deliver Us From Evil will not be remembered for the safe route it took.
